Today, the first seminar at the level of the Egyptian universities will be held at Zagazig University
about the axis of the new Suez Canal
Prof.Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi, President of Zagazig University opened today the first seminar that was held at the level of the Egyptian universities which was organized by the Institute of Asian Studies and Research at the University under the title of "The strategic dimension of the axis of the new Suez Canal " data, ambitions and challenges ", and General Mustafa Hadhoud, Governor of El-Behira participated in the opening and each of General Tariq El-Harouny, General secretary of El-Sharqia province as a representative of Dr./ Saeed Abd El-Aziz, Governor of El-Sharqia and a large number of specialists who are participated in the seminar sessions in the presence of deans of the colleges, faculty members and university employees at the conference hall at the faculty and leadership development center at the university.
The opening session began with the word of Dr./ Abd El-Hakim Nour El-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, who ran the opening session, pointing out that Egypt is the maker of history and civilization, and this seminar comes to launch Egypt's fourth pyramid.
Dr./ Abd El-Hakim El-Tahhaawi, Dean of the institute said in his speech that Zagazig University is honored to organize the first seminar of the Egyptian universities for the project of the axis of the Suez Canal, which is always the first to be a partner in it, and in response to the President's invitation to all sectors of the Egyptian state to participate and have an active role. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr./ President of the University, the Institute of Asian Studies and Research seek to organize this seminar about "The strategic dimension of the axis of the new Suez Canal : data, aspirations and challenges."
And i record by these words that Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi was the deciding factor for holding this seminar to explain the importance of this Canal and the aspirations of every Egyptian from its establishment and Zagazig University was the first to support this project.
In his speech, Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi, University President said that today will be recorded in the history of the university when we talk about the project of the axis of the new Suez Canal, we are talking about a new crossing for Egypt, we celebrate not only with its start, but because we are on the verge of a future we are building together, Egyptian universities exist and have a role perhaps the seminar that we are witnessing today is part of the contributions to the university in this national project and in this period experienced by the country, it was not expected to see such an achievement. But the decision of the President, who refused to lose one moment, emphasis to begin the process of development now and this serious beginning in the implementation of the project comes as a giant and unprecedented leap in order to build a better future for our children and a bright day which is an affirmation of the will of the people and his determination.
He added that we need Sinai with all its riches as a security strategic dimension of our precious Egypt, and this seminar is part of the plan of Zagazig University to contribute to this project, followed by other seminars of the university colleges to discuss the project from different angles, each in his specialty, and when we talk about the precious land of Sinai,it is not only north of Sinai and its beaches or south of Sinai and its tourist villages but we forgot the middle of Sinai a long time and we left it for others who do not want any goodness or safety for our beloved Egypt, Also the University of Zagazig was always the first that have many activities in the interest of Sinai. In time that the people of this region miss the care of the provision of schools, health units and services, we reached them by student convoys under the supervision of Dr./ Adel Qasim and followers of the activity of these convoys, and which caused actual changes in this precious part of our beloved Egypt.
Dr./ Ashraf Al-Shehhi concluded his speech, pointing out that the development dimension of this project is a national one, we need Sinai as a strategic dimension and not as a place of wealth and the participation in this national project is not the vision of the University President , but it is the vision of the University and this is the dimension that motivate us to be the first university in Egypt to move and interact with the project.
Major General Tariq El-Harouny, General secretary of El-Sharqia province in his speech on behalf of Dr./ Saeed Abd El-Aziz, Governor of El-Sharqia pointed out that there is a psychological dimension of this national project which gives confidence to the Egyptian people to what is happening within the Arab Republic of Egypt and that this seminar is a good start to clarify the strategy and the importance of the project of developing the axis of the Suez Canal for the university students, the faculty members and the sons of El-Sharqia province as a whole.
Major General Mustafa Hadhoud said that I am happy today to be one of the sons of El-Sharqia province and the governor of Behera, which my love is equal to them and I would love to confirm that positive participation between the leader and the citizens points out their real belonging to Egypt. He added that what we live now is a war of attrition, but with a difference in the war of attrition no voice was louder than the voice of the battle, but now development is going on with the fight with international and local terrorism where investments in the provinces reached four times more than what was happening before, and the axis of the Suez Canal is one of the requirements of the sustainable comprehensive development and one of the methods to make a big leap in economic growth.
Also Dr./ Mahmoud Omar, Professor of ancient history and former dean of the Higher Institute of civilizations canal gave the idea of the Canal in ancient times. The session was concluded with a summary about the establishment the Suez Canal and its importance by Dr./ El-Tahawy then a documentary film about the new Suez Canal was showed .
